Artificial intelligence in the service of justice: a webinar in tribute to Sylvain ZONGO
As part of the tribute activities to Sylvain ZONGO, a major figure in the Internet and open source software industry in Africa, an interactive webinar was held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, on the theme “Issues and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence for the Judicial World.” This event brought together experts, students, and professionals in the legal and digital fields to explore the opportunities and challenges that AI represents in the judicial field.
A tribute to an African digital pioneer

The webinar is part of a series of activities organized from January 31 to May 17, 2025 in memory of Sylvain ZONGO, whose contribution to the development of free software and the Internet in Burkina Faso and Africa remains invaluable.
An expert at the heart of the discussions

The keynote address was given by Dr. Wendkuuni Moïse CONVOLBO, inventor and expert in digital transformation, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence. His presentation highlighted the growing impact of AI in the judicial field, particularly in the automation of procedures, the analysis of judicial decisions, and the ethical challenges associated with its use.
Moderation provided by Wendinso ZOUNGRANA

The debate was moderated by Wendinso ZOUNGRANA, a doctoral student in international law, who was able to channel the interventions and encourage enriching exchanges between the participants.
